AARP Careers Website: Provides information and education to help persons 50+ find a job, tweak resumes, polish interviewing skills, negotiate a salary and benefits, explore a second career path, explore flexible work arrangements, consider self-employment, and more.

 

Enrge:  The Employment Network for Retirement Government Experts assists retired federal, state, and local government employees with continued employment.  Must register to use site.

 

Encore: Provides news, resources and connections for individuals and organizations establishing “encore careers” designed to combine social contribution, personal meaning and financial security. Many of the jobs posted are in education, healthcare, human services and non-profit.

 

Jobs4point0: Focuses on job-seekers ages 40 and over.

 

National Older Worker Career Center: A nonprofit organization that places workers age 40 and older in federal agency jobs. NOWCC is also dedicated to research and advocacy in support of the needs of older workers.

 

National Employer Team:  A collaboration developed by AARP to help jobseekers 50+ connect with employers that value experienced workers.  National Employer Team employers represent different industries across the U.S. that recruit and retain experienced workers.

 

PrimeCB: CareerBuilder's website focused on older workers. You can search for positions by category or employment type (full-time, part-time, or internship). There is also a blog and a list of real-time events for job seekers to attend. PrimeCB.com is a division of CareerBuilder.com, the nation’s largest job site. Retirees and other experienced job seekers can quickly target job opportunities for their experience level from the nation’s top employers. They can also post resumes, get the latest news on companies and industries, sign up for automatic job alerts, view local career fairs and tap into advice on everything from writing resumes to on-the-job success.

 

Quintessential Careers: Has a comprehensive listing of job and career resources for older job seekers.

 

Retired Brains:  Offers nationwide job listings searchable by industry or state. Is a resource for seniors, retirees and those about to retire that are looking to find jobs, volunteer opportunities, educational resources and retirement information. Can also post your resume and search for career information.

 

Retiree Workforce:  Hosts virtual job fairs as well as job postings and résumé services.

Retirement Jobs:  Has more than 30,000 listings from companies specifically seeking candidates older than 50.  Premium membership ($3.95/mo.) gives access to online workshops, resume critique and more. Certifies employers as offering a friendly work environment for older workers.

Senior Community Service Employment Program - SCSEP: Helps job seekers 55+ strengthen work skills, obtain training, and find job opportunities. (For SCSEP, income eligibility guidelines apply.) 

 

Senior Environmental Employment Program - SEE: The SEE Program provides older Americans with meaningful work, while they are gaining experiences enabling them to move into better paying, more permanent positions outside the SEE Program, if they so choose. Provides a unique opportunity for individuals 55 years or older to assist EPA with projects in pollution prevention, abatement, and control.

 

Senior Helpers: Has offices in 230 U.S. cities; hires many older workers to provide in-home personal and companion care for seniors. Caregivers’ services include help with housework, meal preparation, errands, transportation, medication reminders and Alzheimer’s care. The pay is $8 to $12 per hour; most work an average of about 20 hours per week.

 

Senior Job Bank: A site where job-seekers age 50 and up can search for jobs by category, industry or location, post resumes and register for a job-search agent.

 

Seniors4Hire: Seniors can apply for jobs, submit a résumé, or post a description of their ideal job. Is an online career center and job bank with openings posted by businesses actively recruiting the 50-and-older population. The website also includes career resources and articles for older workers.

 

Wiser Worker: Enables baby boomers and older workers to search for job listings by keyword or location and provides career articles and resources plus listings of job fairs across the nation.

 

Workforce 50:  Lists jobs exclusively from employers who are enthusiastic about hiring workers over age 50. Can register for a free account.  Stores up to three resumes in account.

 

Your Encore: Connects retired scientists, engineers, and product developers with consulting and short-term assignments. Must enroll and create a profile to receive services.
